Haven Leeming is an expert in food systems philanthropy and believes that philanthropic efforts should always put communities first. A member of Builders Vision since 2018, Haven leads the foundation’s Food and Chicago philanthropic portfolios. She developed her philanthropic and subject-matter expertise during her previous tenures at The Chicago Community Trust, the region’s community foundation, and the IDP Foundation, a local family foundation. At Builders Vision, she has expanded the foundation’s food systems leadership from Chicago to national markets that support long-term human health.

Haven sits on the Steering Committee of the Chicago Region Food System Fund, which responds to hunger and business disruption by bolstering the region’s communities and local food system, and is a Board member of Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Funders. Haven graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and earned a joint Master’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Public Policy from the Booth School of Business and Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, respectively. She lives in Chicago with her husband and daughter.
