Lisa Montez is a strategic legal advisor driving social change at the intersection of complex legal strategy, mission-driven investment, and philanthropic innovation. Prior to joining Builders Vision, Lisa served as General Counsel for the Walton Family Foundation and Deputy General Counsel at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Her extensive background also includes roles at the McCormick Foundation and the law firm of Chapman and Cutler, where she specialized in public finance law and tax-exempt securitization.
In addition to her professional practice, Lisa is committed to advancing the field of philanthropy and law through her board service with Mission Investors Exchange and the Chicago Bar Foundation. Lisa is a graduate of Rice University and the University of Texas School of Law.
