Joshua Rubnitz is an associate on Builders Vision’s investment team, focused on backing projects, businesses, and funds that are decarbonizing the energy and industrial sectors through innovative technologies.
Prior to joining Builders Vision, Joshua was an investor at TDK Ventures, where he focused on early-stage climate technology companies across hard-to-abate sectors including geothermal power, low-carbon hydrogen, energy storage, and advanced manufacturing. In this role, he evaluated and supported companies developing new technologies to address some of the most challenging areas of the energy transition.
Joshua began his career as an engineer. In his first role, at Tesla, he contributed to the first builds of the Solar Roof. He later spent four years at Applied Materials developing new semiconductor manufacturing technologies across materials, process development, and equipment design, helping bring new products from early R&D toward commercialization.
Joshua holds an MBA from New York University, where he focused on finance, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Outside of work, Joshua spends as much time outdoors as he can. He enjoys skiing, usually at Palisades Tahoe, as well as golfing, mountain biking, and the occasional scuba dive when he is lucky enough to be near a vibrant reef.
