Anila cares deeply about understanding the food system through the lens of institutional procurement, nutrition, and waste reduction. As an emerging practitioner of philanthropy, she explores ways to shift our food system towards healthier, more accessible and efficient frameworks.

Anila graduated with her Master’s in Public Policy Analysis, with a Certificate in International Development from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago in 2023. Prior to that, she was a financial analyst for global power technology leader, Cummins. There, she developed her financial analysis and operations accounting skills.

Anila enjoys mixed-method research and has worked with both Feeding America and The Farmlink Project in research, advocacy, and partnerships in the food & ag space. She currently serves on the board for Naturally Chicago.

In her free time, Anila loves to brush up on South Indian classical dance, cook, and rollerblade on the lakeshore with her husband.
