David Hirsch is an investor focused on accelerating the adoption of clean energy and industrial decarbonization solutions through funding projects, businesses, and funds.
Before joining Builders Vision, David spent seven years at Generate Capital, an infrastructure investor, where he led investments in renewables, industrials, and data centers. In this role, David led origination, diligence, structuring, execution, and relationship management for over $500 million of investments. Prior to joining Generate in 2018, David was the Director of Finance at Powerhive, a start-up focused on rural electrification. There, he raised $2 million of concessionary loans and gained investment approvals for new microgrids. David was also a Director at SunEdison, where he worked across project finance, commercial sales, rural electrification, and energy storage project finance. David spent the first five years of his career at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch and affiliates, where he worked in both Energy & Power Investment Banking in New York and Real Estate Private Equity in London.
Originally from outside of Philadelphia, David graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
Outside of work, David is on the board of Calvert Impact. In his remaining free time, David enjoys running, ultimate frisbee, book clubs, and incentivizing his kids to join him on nature walks.
