Emilio Carlock is an Associate on the Builders Vision Investment Team, where he evaluates and executes direct and fund investments in the oceans and blue economy space, backing entrepreneurs and fund managers working to restore ocean health and build long-term resilience.
Prior to joining Builders Vision, Emilio was a Private Equity Associate on the Secondary Investments team at Adams Street Partners, where he supported due diligence and execution of LP-led and GP-led secondary transactions across sectors including technology, healthcare, business services, industrials and consumer. Emilio began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Lazard, where he advised clients on buy- and sell-side M&A transactions within the Education and Healthcare Services sectors.
Emilio graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Gies College of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, with High Honors. He was involved in the Gies Scholar Business Honors Program and the Illinois Investment Banking Academy. Emilio also spent a semester studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Outside of work, Emilio enjoys playing soccer, skiing, and finding new restaurants around Chicago.
