Fernando is an experienced IMM Professional who specializes in creating IMM systems to support fund managers and companies in maximizing their impact goals. Fernando firmly believes in making IMM accessible and relatable for the entire impact ecosystem, from nonprofit or startup founders to multi-million dollar for-profit investors and anyone in between.
Prior to joining Builders Vision, Fernando led IMM at SEAF, a pioneer in emerging markets impact investing firm. There, he led Impact and ESG due diligence for numerous companies supported numerous companies and supported them in their IMM strategies as part of post-investment assistance. He has collaborated with DFIs, Multilateral Banks, Foundations, and Private investors by creating ESG and Impact Management strategies that maximize both impact and financial returns.
Originally from Honduras, he has provided IMM support to funds and companies operating in Central and South America, Caribbean, Eastern Europe, MENA, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Most recently, he served as an ESG Advisor for Pomona Impact, an impact Investor in Central America, and as an Impact Consultant for MercyCorps Ventures in their impact investing fund operating in Africa and Latin America.
In his free time, he enjoys reading about history, politics, and religion, playing with his two cats, and being easily convinced to pick up a guitar and sing fun songs.
