Shawn Kendrick is the Vice President of Impact Measurement & Management at Builders Vision. Shawn is dedicated to amplifying the impact of our partners through data, storytelling, and actionable insights. Through advanced data analysis and visualization, he helps drive strategic decision-making to support our overall efforts. Prior to joining Builders Vision, Shawn served as the Manager of Learning & Impact at the Chicago Community Trust. In this role, he collaborated with internal and external partners to assess strategic grant-making initiatives aimed at closing the racial and ethnic wealth gap across the Chicagoland region. Beyond capturing impact, Shawn played a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust tools and processes to improve data collection methods for both staff and grant recipients.

Shawn brings a unique interdisciplinary background to his work, combining evaluation science with urban policy and planning. He holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University, with a focus on community development, and a Bachelor’s degree in African American Studies from the University of Georgia. Before moving to Chicago, he worked as an urban planner in St. Louis and Atlanta. Shawn is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and the American Evaluation Association.
